The veterans of Shakhtar, Donetsk were defeated by Nova-Lux 1-5 in their last-but-one calendar match in Donetsk winter championship on 11 March. 

  From the point of view of tournament this clash was not important for Hirnyky – Valeriy Shaveliuk’s team is coming out of the winter championship on the unwonted 8th place. Therefore Shakhtar’s main task at this stage was getting ready for Vitaliy Starukhin memorial, which the Orange and Blacks are planning to start in as early as on 21 March. 

  Undoubtedly, Nova-Lux team were keeping in mind the result of their precedent clash with Shakhtar veterans (a quick reminder that Hirnyky met them in a tie on 20 October and defeated them 4-2), and therefore were eager to repay their debts. As a result, they did repay them: the teams left for the break with 0-4 on the scoreboard, although Shakhtar had some goal scoring opportunities. Take, for example, a powerful long-range shot on goal by Oleh Pestryakov. But on the whole, younger players on Nova-Lux lineups managed to defeat more experienced Shakhtar players. During the second time the teams exchanges precise goals. Pestryakov scored prestige goal for Shakhtar.
