The forthcoming match, where Shakhtar will take on Metalist Kharkiv is going to be the thirteenth one, considering only home fixtures in Ukrainian Championship. Their confrontation history keeps many spectacular and efficient clashes.

The heaviest defeat of Metalist at CS Shakhtyor in the first cycle of the 2000/2001 season occurred first.  Having scored two in the first halftime, Viktor Prokopenko’s men hammered six goals after the halftime break. Or let us take, for example, a home fixture in the remainder of the 2007/2008 season, where thanks to Devic’s efforts Metalist secured an opener for their side. But the Hirnyky succeeded to improve the situation scoring two goals more. And even being in the minority in the second halftime, Shakhtar took a couple of point shots into Metalist’s net…

Despite statistics that indicates Shakhtar’s full advantage, nevertheless, encounters between the Hirnyky and Metalist are getting more principle and harder. Such positive changes have happened due to Myron Markevych’s side and their strong wish to compete against Shakhtar and Dynamo for qualifying for Champions League Group Stage. Kharkiv’s side will have to earn maximum points at Donbas Arena on 14 March to come this idea true in the current season. Shakhtar also attach great importance to the upcoming clash, as well as to the rest of games in Ukrainian Premier League.  There is nothing you can add more, as Matchday 20 is promised to be extremely interesting.
