On July 5, Shakhtar will kick off friendlies at the training camp in Austria. The first opponents are the German KFC Uerdingen 05. The game starts at 13:00 Kyiv time (EET) and will be streamed live for the registered users of shakhtar.com.

Uerdingen 05 represent the city of Krefeld in western Germany. In 1985, the club won the German Cup after defeating Bayern Munich represented by Klaus Augenthaler, Lothar Matthaus, Roland Wohlfahrt, and Dieter Henness in the final, reaching the Cup semi-finals the following season (they lost to Atletico).
 
In modern history, Uerdingen 05 had to go through bankruptcy and start again from the lower leagues. In 2018, the Red-Blues won the Regionalliga West, spending the last season in the 3.Liga (11th spot; 14 wins, six draws, 18 defeats). In April, the team was headed by Basel’s 2012 Swiss Champion Heiko Vogel. For a year now, the 2014 World Cup Winner Kevin Grosskreutz has been playing at right back of Uerdingen 05. The defensive third has been strengthened after the move of Dane Andreas Maxso, with the experienced Maximilian Beister and Stefan Aigner operating in the attacking third.
