The team of Czestochowa was founded in 1921, but it is the past season that was the most successful in the Red-Blues’ history. Rakow won silver medals in the Polish league and raised the domestic Cup for the first time ever. It is symbolic that this happened on the centenary of the club’s foundation year.

With an eye on the Super Cup

The average age of Rakow players is 24.8. The club colours are defended by 13 foreigners, three of whom play for their national teams: Latvian Vladislavs Gutkovskis, Czech Tomas Petrasek and Slovenian David Tijanic. The team are coached by the local specialist Marek Papszun. The base formation is 3-4-3.

Rakow, just like Shakhtar, are preparing to take part in the domestic Super Cup. On July 17, the Red-Blues will challenge the prestigious trophy vs the reigning champions Legia. Also, for the first time in their history, Rakow will play in a European competition - the UEFA Conference League.
