UEFA Disciplinary Body turned down Fenerbahce protest
Today, August 4, FC Shakhtar has received the decision by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body about Fenerbahce SK’s protest being rejected. Let us remind you that Fenerbahce requested UEFA to cancel the result of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round first leg Fenerbahce - Shakhtar, which had taken place in Istanbul on 28 July, and to sanction Shakhtar with a forfeit due to Fred’s participation in this match. The decision confirms the legitimacy of Fred’s participation in the game.
FC Shakhtar does not have any decision issued by UEFA or any other sports authorities to suspend Fred from taking part in games. Therefore, for the moment the footballer can take part in the competitions held under the aegis of UEFA and FFU.
However, we want to note that FC Shakhtar’s stand is condemning any attempt of unfair competition in sports, through the use of illicit stimulants inclusive.
