(U-16) Shakhtar vs Dynamo: match report

On 3 July, in the semi-final of the DUFL, Shakhtar U-16 faced Dynamo.

The game between two archrivals presented the opponents with a number of goals. The Kyiv side were in full control of the game at the beginning of the match. Dynamo opened the scoring, then they scored the second one almost immediately, and then the third goal versus the Pitmen. Even after such cold shower,  Shakhtar did not give up. In the second half, Gennadiy Zubov’s charges took the game under their control and managed to pull two goals back thanks to Kuzmenko and Konoplya. But the Pitmen did not have enough time to score the third goal.

On 5 July, the Pitmen will face their peers from Dnipro in the third-place match.

- We failed the opening 25 minutes, - Shakhtar U-16 head coach Gennadiy Zubov has reflected on the game. – We conceded two attacking moves down the flank and one through the centre. In the second half, we managed to pull back only two goals. However, I thanked the boys for their determination. Now we will do our best to win in the third-place match and thus make up for this defeat a little at least.
