U17. Shakhtar vs Dnipro: match report
In the third-place match of the DUFL, 5 July, the Pitmen U17 faced Dnipro.
As expected, the game proved to be intense and difficult for both teams. Dnipro were more successful in the beginning of the match – they scored two goals versus the Pitmen. Gennadiy Orbu’s charges did not give up and went forward with even more gusto, creating a number of dangerous chances. But our team managed to score only through Topalov on 60 minutes. It should be added that Dmytro got a prize as the best midfielder of the competition.
Shakhtar U-17 head coach Gennadiy Orbu has reflected on the match:
- We are to blame for two goals conceded. As I have already said, during many months, our conversion of chances was not up to the mark. Plus key players are injured – Tkachuk, Khachaev and Slastinov. It affects the result as well. It is hard to win trophies with seven players. As for the competition, I cannot criticize anyone, there are only remarks regarding conversion of chances. We wished the boys good luck, for them to cement their place in good teams.
