U19. Shakhtar vs Malmo: preview

On Matchday 4 of the UEFA Youth League, the Pitmen will entertain Malmo. We bring you the preview of the game.

Malmo have completed their Swedish U19 league campaign, which takes place based on the “spring-autumn” system. The Pitmen’s opponents finished fourth, taking 45 points and 10 points behind the leaders – Gothenburg. Malmo claimed 13 wins, suffered 7 losses and drew 6 matches.

After three rounds, PSG are topping the group standings with 7 points. Malmo and Real Madrid occupy second and third places respectively.

There are not suspended players at Shakhtar and Malmo. All the players can take part in the game.

Before the Malmo clash, Shakhtar got a win over Skala (Stryi) in the Ukrainian league.

Head-to-head record

Shakhtar first faced the opponents from Sweden on 21 October 2015. The match proved to be rich in goals and ended 5-5. Dmytro Topalov, Oleksandr Zubkov, Giorgi Arabidze, Andriy Boryachuk and Oleksandr Pykhalyonok scored for Shakhtar.

Interesting facts

- The game between Malmo and Shakhtar became the second highest scoring game in the UEFA Youth League 2015-2016. At that day, Benfika defeated Galatasaray 11-1.

- After an away match with Malmo the Pitmen’s forward Giorgi Arabidze made two debut games ( league and Cup) in the Shakhtar senior team.
