Dentinho was playing in place of Fred. The game of the first half of the championship, which took place in Lviv, saw the Pitmen claim a 2-0 win thanks to a brace from the league top scorer Alex Teixeira (18 goals in 12 games).

First half

On 14 minutes, Shakhtar opened the scoring. Darijo Srna, who played his 300th game in the Ukrainian league, drilled a cross from the right into the penalty area for Teixeira, who fed onrushing Dentinho to beat the opposition goalkeeper to make it 0-1. The referee awarded a penalty kick against Shakhtar. Kanibolotskyy guessed the direction of the shot right by Zaporozhan, but the ball was struck in a powerful manner – 1-1. The match saw an end-to-end game, the Pitmen had an excellent game, when Teixeira tried to slot in a cross from Shevchuk – the opposition goalkeeper made a save. Oleksandriya’s players responded quite dangerously, but on 31 minutes the situation in the match changed, as the hosts were reduced to ten men: centre back Shendrik got second yellow card for his foul against Gladkyy. The Pitmen capitalized on that at the end of the half. After a corner Taras Stepanenko headed the ball towards the far post for Oleksandryi Gladkyy to head the ball in to make it 1-2. Before the half time whistle, Marlos was unable to continue the game due to injury.

Second half

Wellington Nem came on for Marlos. On 54 minutes, Teixeira scored his 19th league goal, after seizing on a cross from Dentinho from the right side – 1-3. The Pitmen totally dominated the game, with often operating in the opposition half of the pitch with the whole team. There were not many chances, the Pitmen created chances mainly through set pieces. Midway through the half, Mircea Lucescu brought on Facundo Ferreyra in place of Gladkyy, and a little later Viktor Kovalenko replaced captain Srna. On 77 minutes, Kovalenko had a chance to extend the lead but missed the target. Taison fired a powerful shot from outside the penalty area – the goalkeeper parried the ball away. Before the end of the second half, the hosts held two very dangerous attacks, but the ball flew wide on both occasions. In the stoppage time, Oleksandriya managed to pull one goal back: Ponomar headed the ball into the net following a cross from the left. Soon it was Alex Teixeira who was shown the red card. However, Shakhtar managed to claim a confident win over Oleksandriya to pick up 34 points and cement their lead in the table.
