Shakhtar players on international duty: Ukraine beat Slovenia
On 14 November, the Ukraine national team played their first Euro 2016 playoff match.

Three Shakhtar players were fielded in the starting eleven. Andriy Pyatov was stationed in goal, Yaroslav Rakytskyy played as centre back, with Vyacheslav Shevchuk operating at left back.
Ukraine took the lead in the middle of the first half, converting a goal scoring chance. Yarmolenko dribbled past two defenders before planting the ball into the far corner of the net. After ten minutes, Handanovic made a fine save following a Rybalka shot, and a little later he denied Garmash a chance to score.
In the second half of the game, the hosts were still dominating proceedings, and on 54 minutes second goal followed: Seleznyov slotted in a cross from Fedetskiy at the far post first time. After twenty five minutes, Yevhen could have sealed his brace, but the ball hit the goal post.
The score remained at 2-0 in favour of the Ukraine national team. The return leg will take place on 17 November in Maribor.
