The game started with an unexpected own goal by the hosts, after which the US team were leading for more than half an hour. During that period of time, the hosts created a great number of chances, but Gustavo Scarpa, Vinicius Araujo and Rodrigo Caio did not convert them. The Brazilians managed to equalise only in the closing stages of the first half with Gabriel scoring.
Brazilians also dominated possession after the break, being less wasteful though. Early in the second half, Felipe Anderson put the hosts in front, and on 62 minutes he notched up a great goal from the spot to make it 3-1. Later, Gabriel grabbed a brace through a rebound. With Luan sealing the win in the 83rd minute.
