Maksym Malyshev suffered ligament damage
The Pitmen’s midfielder will not be able to help the Ukraine national team in the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers. Maksym Malyshev has suffered an injury due to which he is forced to leave the national team camp.
- I suffered damage in the game against Chornomorets. It was an ordinary episode in the game. But immediately after the collision, when I got up, I felt strong pain. The only thing what I was thinking at the time was avoid a serious injury. Then after a check-up, I was told that it was an inflammation of the lateral ligament. But I still joined the national team camp. Here I consulted with the doctors, with the head coach and we decided that since I need time for treatment, it is better for me to return to Shakhtar. Now I am recovering, going through certain procedures, slowly but confidently gaining shape - Maksym Malyshev says.
According to FC Shakhtar Chief Medical Officer Arthur Glushchenko, the Pitmen’s midfielder has suffered damage to the lateral ligament of the knee. The player will need from seven to ten days to recover.
