On 26 minutes, the Belarus goalkeeper made a save, parrying away a Konoplyanka shot from close range. But after a few minutes Ukraine cemented their lead: Vyacheslav Shevchuk received a pass from Konoplyanka before drilling a cross to Yarmolenko to make it 2-0.
Not long before the break, the opposition defender Mykhailo Sivakov brought down Kravets after a corner kick. The referee pointed to the penalty spot. Konoplyanka confidently converted the spot kick.
In the closing stages of the second half Oleksandr Gladkyy came on for Artem Kravets. On 61 minutes, the referee awarded another penalty kick – this time for a Khacheridi foul on Kornilenko. The latter converted a penalty kick but Belarus failed to score more goals.
