Humanitarian Centre: 100th convoy with food went to Donbas
On the morning of September 21, the 100th convoy with foodstuffs from the Rinat Akhmetov Centre left for Donbas. 50 thousand survival sets for the civilians in the uncontrolled territories will be delivered to the logistics centre at the Donbass Arena stadium.
The convoy includes 21 heavy trucks carrying 420 tonnes of food. “The 100th convoy is bringing food to Donetsk to form 50 thousand survival kits. In just one year of the Centre’s operation, they delivered to the Donetsk and Mariupol warehouses over 60 thousand tonnes of foodstuffs. It took 3090 trucks to deliver such a volume. During this time, the residents of 221 communities and 21 regions of Donbas, located on either side of the contact line, have received aid,” - said Oleksandr Vishnyakov, head of the Humanitarian Aid division of the Rinat Akhmetov Centre.
The convoy has a complete package of documents produced in compliance with all rules and procedures under the current legislation of Ukraine, along with the certificates confirming the shipment contents and product quality. They also have the order of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine on recognition of the shipment as humanitarian one.
As of September 21, 2015, the Centre volunteers have distributed a total of 4,541,000 adult sets and 332,000 children's sets.
