Introducing opponents: Lokomotiv Tbilisi
At 19:00 Ukrainian time (EET) on February 8, the Pitmen will play another game of the Spanish training camp. Tbilisi-based Lokomotiv will be Shakhtar’s opponents.
Similarly to Shakhtar, the club was founded in 1936. Lokomotiv twice claimed silver medals of the championship of Georgia (in 2001 and 2002) and won the Cup three times (in 2000, 2002 and 2005).
Kakhaber Tskhadadze (the current head coach of Georgia national team) and Zaza Janashia (known for his spell at Lokomotiv Moscow) used to play for the Tbilisi-based club.
At the moment, Lokomtov don’t boast any major success in the domestic league. In the 15 matches the Tbilisi side claimed four wins, drawing twice and having 14 points. Presently, the team sit in the 12th spot.
The head coach of Lokomotiv is a Spaniard Gerard Zaragoza. He is quite a young specialist, turning 34 this February. We also want to note that earlier, the young striker of Shakhtar Giorgi Arabidze also played for Loko.
