Dinamo Zagreb vs Shakhtar: player comments

Players of the Donetsk team have reflected on the victory over Croatia.

Marlos, Shakhtar midfielder:

- This was a good game with high-level opponents in terms of technique. We controlled the ball well throughout the match, despite the fact that Teixeira, who was one of the key players of Shakhtar, left the team. Now we need to learn to play without Alex and use other strengths to win. But we will do everything possible to remain at a high level! Today, in the first half we created many chances, played well in terms of passing and confidently acted on the counterattack. In the second half we slowed down a little, the opponents were trying to take the lead and change the score in their favour, but the they failed. Such victories improve confidence and are very valuable ahead of important matches such as the game with Schalke. I am therefore pleased that we have achieved a positive result.

Maksym Malyshev, Shakhtar midfielder:

- This is not my first game alongside Taras Stepanenko. I am very comfortable to interact with such a professional footballer, from whom I am trying to learn. Today we faced strong, organised team. Opponents have acted aggressively, moved well. But we played better and deservedly won. Mister instructed to begin the game aggressively, try to score quickly. It worked out.

Eduardo, Shakhtar forward:

- It was an important match for me. I faced the club, where I spent eight years. Dinamo Zagreb literally introduced me to the world of football. Nevertheless, I am happy that I managed to score this goal, it is unforgettable. Dario assisted me, we interact great on the field. We have the same understanding in the Croatia national team. For this, I am grateful to our captain. Opponents are tactically and technically strong team, which consist of a lot of talented players.
