Before match

The Pitmen played their fourth game at the training camp in Spain with representatives of the Danish league. Shakhtar’s starting line-up was almost full-strength. Oleksandr Kucher and Ivan Ordets played at the heart of defence. Eduardo was deployed behind Oleksandr Gladkyy, who played as the forward.

First half

The teams started the game at quite a fast tempo. On 12 minutes, Shakhtar’s attack could have led to a goal, when Gladkyy tried to send the ball into empty net, but the opposition defender blocked the shot. The Danish side often caught the Pitmen in offside trap, with also responding with a couple of dangerous attacks. One of them saw the ball hit the crossbar. The Pitmen were attacking in numbers, and in the middle of the first half Ismaily found himself in a good position to shoot goal wards, but the opposing defender blocked the shot at the very last moment. Long shots from Marlos and Taison were saved by the opposition goalkeeper. Pyatov made a save in the closing stages of the first half, after saving a shot that was flying towards under the roof of the net.

Second half

During the break, there was only change made to Shakhtar’s squad: Wellington Nem replaced Gladkyy. In the opening stages of the second half, Taison could have scored but his powerful effort flew wide of the goal. Eduardo missed the target too after a cross from Darijo Srna. The Danish side played rough and counterattacked dangerously on some occasions. The Pitmen were often caught in offside trap. The closing stages of the match saw Shakhtar totally dominating proceedings. Taras Stepanenko and Srna took shots from outside the penalty area. Andriy Boryachuk wasted the last goal scoring opportunity, after missing the target following a powerful shot. The game ended 0-0.
