Shakhtar vs Dacia: player comments
The Donetsk team players reflect on the friendly vs Dacia.
Andriy Boryachuk, Shakhtar forward:
- We played a great game against decent opponents. We played being affected by fatigue, but still tried to convert every chance. I think that in this encounter I made many mistakes, being dissatisfied with myself. The goal I scored doesn’t compensate for all those errors. I also want to note that in different line-up variations our team have been cohesive, but there’s still room for improvement. It was a bit unusual to play two halves of 30 minutes. When the second wind kicks in, the match is over. But, on the other hand, had we spent two halves of 45 minutes, it would have significantly increased fatigue.
Serhiy Kryvtsov, Shakhtar defender:
- Two halves of 30 minutes is enough for closing match on training camp. It is better to hold such a meeting and get some match practice than just to train. Such encounters also give Mister good food for thought. Today, those with less match practice have played, plus those who have recovered from injury. All the guys tried really hard! I would note that we met with a good team. Of all the contenders in Spain, I personally enjoyed playing against Dinamo Zagreb the most. At this training camp we have rediscovered our top form. It remains to analyse the strengths and weaknesses of Schalke and get mentally prepared for the Europa League match.
Vasyl Kobin, Shakhtar defender:
- The game was largely a training one, two halves of 30 minutes. Of course, that’s unusual, as we had to pace ourselves quite differently. So in the end it seemed to me that we had played for even more than 90 minutes today! The first half of the meeting was difficult both for the opponents and for us. We carried out positional attacking moves, but have created just few dangerous chances. In the second half both teams began to attack more. Unfortunately, we were the first to concede a goal, although we promptly equalised. The goal is the result of a number of errors that allowed Dacia to score. We have a few days left. We will train to adapt to the weather conditions in Ukraine. We will try to approach the Europa League game in top form.
