Miami City vs Shakhtar: players’ view

Players of the Donetsk team have reflected on the victory over the US side.

Andriy Boryachuk, Shakhtar forward:
- Today it was very hot and stuffy. Plus legs were slightly tired without recovery procedures. It was difficult. So I'm very glad to have scored twice in this match! In the episode with the first goal, I scored after a decent flick-on from Oleksandr Gladkyy, when I just had to send the ball into empty net, and in the second episode, Vasyl Kobin made a perfect pass. In the first case, I played based on the situation and in the second episode it was a combination, practised at training sessions.

Giorgi Arabidze, Shakhtar forward:
- All matches that we played at the training camp were very intense and useful. We faced good teams. Especially, I liked Fluminense and Corinthians. These games help get in shape and go into the league campaign in good form. As for my condition, it is not one hundred percent; I feel that I still need to practice. I am very pleased that Mister fields me! I have established a good understanding with partners and work on new combinations.

Bohdan Sarnavskyy, Shakhtar goalkeeper:
- I had to work hard at the end of the match: the opponents probably felt a little more confident and began to attack. I would like to thank Mister for giving me a chance. I am very glad that I justified his trust and kept a clean sheet. Every match at the training camp for us is like a holiday. We are waiting for them and we want to win! Personally, my most memorable game was against Fort Lauderdale Strikers. They are an organised team, who fought well. We are now working against the background of large workloads; Mister wants to give everyone a chance to prove themselves, so some players are just trying to feel their partners. It will become clear at the second training camp in Spain, who have succeeded or who have not.
