On July 6, Shakhtar will play their next friendly at the training camp in the Netherlands. The Orange-Black’s opponents are Club Brugge, Belgium

The Pitmen are to take on one of the most decorated teams in Belgium, the current domestic title holders. The club was founded back in 1891, it has achieved considerable success since then. Brugge are 14-times domestic champions and 11-time domestic cup winners. The Belgians’ biggest achievement in Europe is their reaching the 1977/78 European Champion Clubs' Cup final. Two years earlier, the Blue-Black reached the UEFA Cup final, but lost to Liverpool FC.

Last season, Shakhtar’s opponents have won the domestic league title after an 11-year break, securing the Champions League group stage berth.

Shakhtar and Brugge met 8 times in European competitions. The encounters belonged to three competitions: Cup Winners' Cup, Champions League and Europa League.
