Previously, our site already reported on the release of the President: From A Dream To Its Fulfilment documentary. It is dedicated to the twenty years of Shakhtar’s progress under the guidance of Rinat Akhmetov
The film starts with the club president’s quote:
- Previously, I always liked to say this: we all live our dreams and memories. We dream of something, we recall something. Football taught me differently – to enjoy every single day. They say that we should approach a day as a small life and enjoy each passing minute. On October 11, 1996, I decided to become the president of FC Shakhtar...
The film features the archival footage of the past twenty years, the memories of Rinat Akhmetov about all the coaches of Shakhtar in the club’s recent history, along with the team’s successes and failures. Much of the film is dedicated to the Donetsk club’s objectives and ambitions of the Donetsk club, as well as the role of Donbass Arena.
- The whole city was experiencing it with us, with Shakhtar Donetsk. The Champions League, the derby against Dynamo and Dnipro... It was a festival for the city, - says the Pitmen’s captain Darijo Srna. – We all gathered at the beautiful Donbass Arena. When Donetsk hosted a football match, it was a festival. And the most important thing that has not changed for the president is his love of football and Shakhtar. Even in a situation like we have these days, he wants the result even more than he did before.
