The Pitmen scored 15 goals in eight games
In February, Paulo Fonseca’s men completed their preparatory training camp and had three competitive games. In the Europa League Round of 32, the Donetsk side played twice against Celta, Spain, they also resumed the Ukrainian League season with a game against Poltava-based Vorskla. Five more games that month were friendlies.
The newcomer Gustavo Blanco Leschuk has become the team’s top scorer. He has a tally of six goals, including a hat trick against SC Olhanense, Portugal. Another Shakhtar striker Andrii Boriachuk notched up three goals.
Facundo Ferreyra had a long recovery from injury, so he made only one appearance in February. However, he became one of its main characters, managing to net one against Vorskla on 90 minutes, which allowed Shakhtar to come from behind.
