On June 19, FC Shakhtar and SkyUp Airlines have signed a co-operation agreement
According to the agreement, in the next two years SkyUp will be the team’s official air carrier, conducting flights to domestic and international games. The corresponding document was signed by the Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin and the SkyUp Airlines co-founder Yurii Alba.

- The first partnership between the football club and the airline is a landmark event in the history of Ukraine. Our team have a mission: to redefine the boundaries and standards of excellence in football. And we’re confident that SkyUp will set new boundaries and standards of excellence in passenger air travelling. It’s the desire to improve the standards of our operations that serves as the major factor in our co-operation. We shouldn’t forget that we also have common colours: orange is the colour of the rising sun, symbolizing the dawn of Shakhtar’s new era and the emergence of SkyUp. I’m convinced that this co-operation will be beneficial to all parties, especially to millions of our fans, for whom air travel will become more accessible. Therefore, I want to wish Shakhtar to always be the champions on the ground, and to SkyUp – to be the champs in the sky.

- We’re delighted that the airline will provide top air travel services to the team of true champions, and we guarantee the best service not only to Shakhtar, but also to all passengers flying on the SkyUp Airlines planes. I want to wish both sides a successful and fruitful co-operation, and more victories and achievements to Shakhtar.
For flights to the games, the team will be provided with a comfortable 149-seat plane Boeing 737-700, painted in the colours of the partner companies - orange and black. Also, they will place the Shakhtar crest on the plane body.
The Orange-and-Blacks’ mentor Paulo Fonseca, who attended the signing ceremony, has expressed confidence that flights on this kind of plane are important not only image wise, but that they also might well inspire the footballers to win.

- We have to take a great number of flights per season. And the quality service is important for achieving the goal set – to win every game and remain the champions. There are no small things in football these days. Everything's important. So we hope that the partnership with SkyUp is an important tool that will allow us to win and to be on top. Even the branded aircraft can inspire the players to more victories, to give them confidence and to motivate them additionally. In Europe, the partnerships between airlines and football clubs is a common and popular phenomenon among the leading teams, the Champions League participants. Now Shakhtar will be among them, having a plane with own design.
The first flight of the Miners will follow the Kyiv - Odesa route before the Ukrainian Super Cup tie.
