- I consider the victory a deserved one, - pointed out the head coach of Shakhtar U14 Oleksandr Knyazev. - Shakhtar are the only team to have secured an unbeaten run in the league. In the tournament, we have been the strongest team, which we proved in the end. The starting 15 minutes of the final turned out tough due to the excitement; but midway through the first half, the guys gained confidence and began to control the course of the game, having the initiative and dominating possession. Dynamo played more using long balls, therefore in the second half we needed to monitor the depth and constantly win the rebounds. We coped with that, so we had more space up front, we launched great attacks and could extend the lead. We’re delighted with the win!

- Five straight clean sheets in the final competition. Does everyone’s defensive contribution deserve some special words?
- Yes, all of our guys play both offensively and defensively. They followed our defensive principles. In every game we strive to play on top, to adhere to our ideas, to have the initiative and showcase the attacking football. It’s important to get used to the game displayed by the first team from early age. Of course, the format of the final tournament is quite difficult: five games in eight days is not easy physically. But the guys did well, they showed character and fulfilled our requirements in a disciplined manner. The outcome confirms it.

- How difficult was the whole championship?
- That’s a completely new team: we gathered just in August and held our debut season campaign. I want to mention an excellent atmosphere in the team. Initially, the players were getting used to each other, and then we delivered a great performance in the middle and at the end of the first stage. Subsequently, in many games we showed character and clinched a positive outcome even at tough times. We try to follow the Development through Victories motto. We analyse each match in terms of the performance quality. The guys have coped, well done. In the future, everything also depends on them: if they progress like that, they will have a great future.
