On Sunday, the Miners held an intensive morning session

It all started in the gym, where the players got some workloads on the training machines and pumped up all the muscle groups, also working on agility. Then came the time for training on the field: a short warm-up and short-distance headstarts with maximum acceleration, which improve the players’ explosive strength.
 
Next, the Miners began to exercise with the ball, just as yesterday, they focussed on tactic. This time, Paulo Fonseca supervised the defenders and holding halfbacks making transitions from defence to attack with prompt changing the wings, while the attacking group honed combinational actions with crosses and splitting passes into the penalty area. Then, the Orange-and-Blacks held a small-sided game across the whole field with focus on getting from under pressure and the transition to attack.
 
After the session, the coaching staff announced their decision to cancel the evening session for the players to recover their fitness after several days of hard work.
 
- The beginning of the training camp is always the hardest stage, but everyone understands that we need to run and improve our fitness in order to prepare well for the new season, which promises to be even more difficult than the previous one, - says the defender David Khocholava. - One day, we had Yo-Yo trials, yesterday we spent much time on the tactical side, and today we’ve added the physical workloads. This is the technique of the coach Nuno Romano, who suggested to alternate different kinds of activities. It's nice that we got free time till the end of the day, not so much for rest, but for the sporting break for the muscles that have got loaded. We had a massage, then enjoyed cold baths, a sauna and a swimming pool - there are all conditions here.
 
Shakhtar players dedicated the second half of the day to recovery, and tomorrow they will get back to training twice a day.
