On 24 May 1936, FC Shakhtar Donetsk played their first competitive game
Over 82 years, the club history saw multiple outstanding victories and achievements. We have come a long way and have rightfully become one of the strongest teams in the country, earning respect all over the world. In the Soviet Union times, the Donetsk players won 4 Cups and a Super Cup of the USSR. In the modern era, Shakhtar have claimed 11 league titles, winning 12 Cups and 8 Super Cups of Ukraine, along with the UEFA Cup in 2009. In total, the collection features 37 trophies.
Congratulations to the veterans, who in different years played in the team and laid the foundation for title-winning traditions. You are the pride and glory of Shakhtar Donetsk. Your names and your accomplishments will be respected by new generations of the Miners.
