- Gianluigi Buffon was once asked to give advice to the novice players, and he said: “The main thing is not to stand in goal.” Have there been any moments in your career when you regretted becoming a goalkeeper?
- Nope. That’s my life. I consciously chose my path, having been standing between the sticks since age seven - I felt that it’s my true purpose. That’s why it’s not worth regretting anything at all. Of course, there are good and bad games, but that’s football.
- Currently, there is such a tendency that goalkeepers play up to the age of 40. You are 34, you are in great shape, having made about 40 apps in each of the recent seasons. Given all that, the Shakhtar record figure of 536 apps should seem not that much unattainable, right?
- If it’s God’s will! But I'm not seeking records. The main thing is to benefit the club and the national team. If there appears the keeper who’s stronger than me, I will gladly offer him my place. First of all, I want to be a good person, the number of appearances is secondary for me.
