From September 26 through September 30, Mariupol will host the training of children’s grassroots football coaches

The training will be conducted by the professional tutors of La Liga.

European expertise

This is the first joint event of Shakhtar Social and one of the world's leading football leagues. The Come On, Let’s Play! football coaches will take part in the sessions, all in all 40 young specialists, with 10 places to be distributed on a competitive basis among those who wish to participate.

As part of one of the three La Liga Training Methodology Course modules, the mentors will study the methodology and structure of training, technical training, workloads, tactics, and other aspects for five days. The programme includes 14 theory and 9 practice sessions.

Luis Gil, La Liga’s Director of Competitions and Player’s Office:

- With the arrival of Javier Tebas, our organisation initiated an ambitious path aimed at growing not only nationally but internationally. The agreement about our operation in Ukraine is one more step forward in that direction. This is going to offer us a unique opportunity to have a better knowledge of the Ukrainian market and football while we collaborate in the development of the same, promoting La Liga model.

Valeriy Kryventsov, Shakhtar U21 head coach:

- This is a very important project of FC Shakhtar and La Liga. I think that European experience and training are necessary for our specialists. Children's grassroots football is primarily the basis of professional sports. It’s necessary for the kids to be trained under the guidance of the qualified instructors from the first steps. Therefore, such co-operation in the near future can bring a new wave, a new generation of children's coaches. Perhaps, some of them will find their true purpose in professional football.
