Dynamo hosted Shakhtar in the U21 League round 25 major game
Just like in the encounter with Zorya, Valeriy Kryventsov relied on the pairing of central defenders Bondar - Bondarenko. Artem Holod remained on the bench, with Yukhym Konoplya playing at right-back, and with Dmytro Kryskiv backing up the forward Andrii Kulakov.
First-half ranging
The Kyiv outfit created a great chance already in the second minute: Buletsa delivered a free-kick, and Alibekov headed it towards the right corner, with Kucherenko turning the ball for a corner. Shakhtar responded with a number of attacks, but the hosts defended unmistakably for half an hour. The Orange-and-Blacks had a chance in the 31st minute when Kryskiv volleyed Kaschuk’s high ball high. Then, Kucherenko rescued his team again after Rusin’s appearance, with Buschan saving a Kaschuk attempt. The first half ended 0-0, notwithstanding the fact that the opponents exchanged attempts one more time before the break - Tsitaishvili and Chekh lacked accuracy.
Key episodes
After leaving the dressing room, the Miners scored a goal. In the 48th minute, Kucherenko cleared the ball, Kulakov received it with his back facing the goal, turned around and found Topalov, who had linked up down the left-hand side, with Dmytro bursting into the penalty area and hitting the far corner – 0-1. However, that score did not last long. Belovar could have immediately put his name on the scoresheet after a set-play situation; and in the next attack by Dynamo, Bondar got in the way of Shulyanskyi's attempt and caused the ball end up in the back of his own net – 1-1. Shakhtar made a few pretty good runs down the wing with crosses being delivered by Konoplia, Topalov, and Korniienko, although the hosts also played it wide. In the 72nd minute, the White-Blues did not find an opportunity to strike from midfield and moved the ball to the right-hand side, with Kravchenko making a delivery, and with Supryaha heading it home – 2-1. In the remaining time, the Orange-and-Blacks were looking for their chance in the opponents’ half, but the latter turned in a great defensive performance.
2-1 - Dynamo U21 claimed a home win and strengthened their title-race position. Valeriy Kryventsov’s lads will play their next game vs Vorskla in Poltava on April 27.
