Shakhtar played Lviv away in the Premier League round 4

The Miners won all of their opening games, with the team’s unbeaten run lasting for more than a year now and comprising 32 matches. Junior Moraes and Marlos, whose goals brought victory in the encounter with Dynamo, have scored goals in two rounds in a row. The Orange-and-Blacks arrived in Lviv without Tete and Taison who was replaced by Dentinho. The central defender Sergii Kryvtsov has appeared for Shakhtar for the 150th time now.

Two goals and multiple chances

From the off, the Miners almost did not leave the hosts’ half, creating a chance after chance. Ismaily excellently received Patrick’s pass and was targeting the near top corner only to see his attempt go wide. Marlos bent a dangerous free-kick before making an attempt following his signature slaloming run - both efforts were denied by Sarnavskyi. Moraes got a perfect opportunity, but the striker’s attempt hit the post from nearly the goal line. Goals followed only after the opening thirty minutes of play. Marlos delivered a corner, Matviienko headed it on, with Dentinho flicking it home from a point-blank range and making it 0-1. The Lviv team responded with Renan’s uncomfortable shot from the edge of the box (Pyatov came to the rescue), but immediately conceded another goal: Matviienko threw it behind the defenders in class, Ismaily fed Marlos down the centre, with the latter volleying it right home – 0-2.

Continuation of the winning streak

The beginning of the second half turned out to be less hurried, but Shakhtar continued enjoying the initiative and could score more goals. In the 60th minute, a Lviv defender brought Kryvtsov down in his own penalty area, and the referee pointed to the spot. Alan Patrick sent the keeper the wrong way, but the ref unruled that goal and asked him to retake it due to the players entering the box too early - Sarnavskyi parried it away. The Brazilian was immediately replaced by Oleksandr Pikhalyonok who ten minutes later got injured and was substituted by Dodo. And even earlier, Dentinho left the pitch due to an injury. In the closing stages, the hosts tried to score at least a consolation goal, but the Orange-and-Blacks were closer to netting another one. Marlos cut inside from the right flank along the edge of the box and sent the ball high. Solomon's similar left-hand-side attempt also whizzed just inches off the woodwork.

2-0 - Shakhtar, thanks to two goals scored in the first half, defeated Lviv and continue confidently topping the UPL table.
