Coach and players
Hajduk’s manager is the 46-year-old Sinisa Orescanin, who previously worked with the U17 and U21 sides. He took charge of the first team on November 27, 2018, replacing Zoran Vulic. Sinisa held just four competitive games (2 wins and 2 defeats).
Orescanin manages the international squad with some promising young Croats and more experienced foreigners. The important players are the right-back Josip Juranovic, Mijo Caktas after his spell at Rubin, the winger Adam Gyurcso, and the forwards Jairo da Silva and Mirko Ivanovski.
Shakhtar vs Croatia
The Miners have repeatedly crossed paths with the Croats. In the 2008/09 season, in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, they claimed a 2-0 home win and a 3-1 away win at Dinamo Zagreb (goals scored by Srna, Jadson, Adriano, Brandao, and Willian). The Orange-and-Blacks also met with this club six times as part of the training camp friendlies. The most frequent outcomes are 1-1 (three times) and 2-0 (twice). Exactly 10 years ago, in Turkey, they had a friendly against Osijek, which ended in favour of the opponents.
