On July 11, the Orange-and-Blacks held a final match on the training camp in Austria

The only goal was scored in the dying stages, although both teams had pretty good scoring chances.

Exchange of attacks

From the off, Shakhtar got the ball under control, although they failed to convert it into danger near the opponents' goal for some time. APOEL, who deployed three central defenders, initially gave no open spaces away to their opponents, with the Cypriots’ manager Paolo Tramezzani calling upon his men to watch Moraes’ moves more closely for 45 minutes. And yet this did not prevent the Miners from creating their most dangerous chance midway through the first half: Lafrance did not let Junior into the penalty area, and Marlos skilfully lobbed the ball behind the backs of the defenders who were late to stop the bursting Solomon - only a post came to the rescue of Belec. Right after that, Stepanenko checked the goalkeeper's reflexes with a powerful attempt. Al-Taamari could have netted one for the Nicosia side a bit earlier - his attempt went just wide.

Opponents’ chance

During the half-time break, Tete appeared on the left-hand side, being the one who fed Moraes after receiving the splitting pass from Patrick - a defender prevented him from preparing well for shooting. Then, Alan himself decided to strike from 20-metre range - his attempt whizzed just inches off the post. In turn, Pyatov saved Pavlovic’s powerful effort. Luis Kastro gradually made substitutions, with Mykola Matviienko being the only player among those who appeared in the starting lineup to spend 90 minutes on the pitch. Danylo Sikan and Blanco Leschuk got their playing time, but another fresh forward was more successful, namely Linus Hallenius. In the 84th minute, Shevchenko parried away a cross, but the Swede headed the deflected ball into the back of the net.

Aggregately, the Orange-and-Blacks held seven friendlies on the summer training camp (five wins, one draw, one defeat). On July 12, the team will return to Kyiv to continue preparing for the Super Cup decider vs Dynamo.
