The Come On, Let’s Play! training sessions kicked off in Stanytsia Luhanska

On July 11, they opened a football ground as part of the Football Near the Contact Line project, which is implemented by the Shakhtar Social foundation jointly with the UEFA Foundation for Children, being aimed at developing children’s grassroots football in Ukraine and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Partnership with UEFA

On November 30, 2018, Shakhtar Social won a grant from the UEFA Foundation for Children and received funding for the Come On, Let’s Play! project in the cities and towns of Donetsk and Luhansk regions near the contact line. Only 45 best projects were selected out of a few hundreds of social sports projects.

Eight towns

Since April, training sessions have been held in Toretsk, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Mar’inka, Kurakhove, Volnovakha, and Schastya. Stanytsia Luhanska became the eighth spot on the map of the Football Near the Contact Line project - 60 boys and girls aged 7 to 12 will play football there.

- We can’t change the living conditions in Stanytsia Luhanska, but we can help the children by giving them the opportunity to play sports, - says Inna Khmyzova, the Director of Shakhtar Social. - Our goal is to have as many kids as possible playing football on a regular basis. In our project, they can do it absolutely free of charge, using good balls and under the guidance of a coach.
