Shakhtar continue preparing for the 2019/20 season
On Friday, July 19, Luis Castro’s men will have a friendly match vs Kolos from Kovalivka. Shakhtar.com will air the game live for the registered users. It kicks off at 18:00.
Before the match
The Orange-and-Blacks completed two intensive training camps in Germany and Austria. Upon the return to Ukraine, they got two days off and then resumed their work at the Sviatoshyn suburban complex.
The team train hard. On Wednesday, the session lasted for ninety minutes - the programme included set-piece practice, tactical exercises, and a small-sided game across a third of the pitch. Almost all players train in the general group, except for the injured Andrii Totovytskyi.
Opponents
FC Kolos was founded in 2012, representing the village of Kovalivka and winning the Kyiv Oblast championship on three occasions. In the first season at the professional level (2015/16), the White-and-Blacks became the Second League winners and advanced to a higher league. The club covered the entire way under the leadership of Ruslan Kostyshyn, the famous former footballer of CSKA Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kryvbas. This summer, Kolos have been preparing for their UPL debut - having finished fifth in the First League on two occasions, the Kovalivka side made another step forward last season and advanced to the second spot, later defeating Chornomorets Odesa in the play-offs.
