On September 25, OSK Metalist in Kharkiv will host Shakhtar Talent Day to be attended by boys born in 2006 and 2007
As part of the one-day competition, 96 children will show their football talents in the presence of FC Shakhtar Academy scouts, with the most gifted ones to be invited for trials!
The important information about regulations and pre-registration are available online. Registration at the OSK Metalist kicks off at 12:00 on September 25, with the competition starting at 13:00. The boys must have their birth certificates, outfits (shirt, shorts, socks, shinguards) and sports shoes (turf shoes).
Prize winners and all participants in the screening will receive souvenirs from FC Shakhtar.
“The search for players for the Academy is a large-scale process. We co-operate with our scouting service headed by Jose Boto, the Academy’s senior scout Ivan Kotsyuba and the Shakhtar Social foundation. They have created a whole strategic project, with experts constantly screening young football players at the tournaments of Come On, Let’s Play! and Talent Day, trying not to miss a single talent,” explains Jorge Raffo, the FC Shakhtar Academy director. “We constantly develop our scouting, we travel around the country to have a complete picture and know about the skills of each player. The best club should have the best players!”
Previously, Shakhtar Social held Talent Days in Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, Mariupol, Chernivtsi, and Zaporizhia. In July 2018, according to the results of Mariupol-based selection, Maksym Derkach from Chornomorsk was admitted to the Academy before becoming the Champion of Ukraine with Shakhtar U14 last season, currently playing for the U15 team.
