Shakhtar goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin marks his birthday on the 1st of August
Anatolii celebrates his 19th birthday as a two-time champion of Ukraine. Having won the trust of the coaching staff of Luis Castro, the goalkeeper does his best to use his chance.
With Shakhtar since childhood
Trubin is a graduate of Shakhtar Academy, he started playing football at the age of 6. He was Shakhtar’s main goalkeeper in all age groups of the DUFL, also playing for Ukraine U19 and Ukraine U21. He made his first-team debut on May 26, 2019 in the home game against Mariupol. Thanks to Dentinho's hat-trick and Tete's goal, the Orange-and-Blacks claimed a convincing 4-0 victory back then.
Castro’s trust
But Trubin faced a real challenge in the 2019/20 season. The young goalkeeper made 7 straight appearances, playing for 630 minutes (this is the second best result among the goalkeepers). With Trubin Shakhtar claimed 5 wins, with Anatolii securing 3 clean sheets. He also took part in the Ukrainian Clasico for the first time - the away match against Dynamo ended in a 3-2 victory for the Miners.
The youngest captain
At the age of 18, Trubin set a club record. It was he who led his teammates onto the pitch for the game vs Kolos this season and became the youngest captain in Shakhtar’s history. At the time of the game that was held on July 15th, Trubin was 18 years and 349 days old. Previously, the youngest Shakhtar captain was Viktor Kovalenko (20 years and 87 days).
We wish the birthday boy good health, happiness, bright games and clean sheets. Happy Birthday, Anatolii!
