Shakhtar winger Tete reflects on the team’s training in Turkey, the workloads, and the ball work
- Tete, how’s the training camp going? How do you feel on day four?
- Everything’s fine! We work very hard and are already thinking about the Ukrainian Championship and the Europa League. We are facing the important games.
- They say that days 3-5 of the training camp are the toughest for the players physically. What do you make of the workloads?
- Yes, indeed. You feel refreshed after the vacation, but during that period you did next to no physical work, so it’s quite difficult until day 5. But we gradually adapted to the daily workload.
- The coaching staff offer you to do a lot of ballwork, without running. Does it help you get used to it faster?
- Of course. The style of our team is just like that: we spend much time with the ball, we try to attack more. And now, as always, we carry out all our exercises with the ball.
- Already thinking about Benfica? Do you have any tactical sessions, do you analyse the opponents’ performance?
- We’ve been polishing our play model so far, pressing on the opposing half of the field, retaining the ball, defending and attcking, that is, the basic aspects. We will learn about Benfica later.
