Shakhtar U21 defeated Oleksandriia U21 in the central match of the 10th round
Already in the 4th minute, the Miners took the lead: Oleksandr Drambaev crossed from the flank, and Oleksandriia's defender Kobenda scored an own goal – 1-0. In the next attack, after Svitiukha's pass, the same Kobenda could have repeated an own goal, but Borysenko stopped the rebound this time. The visitors responded with a dangerous but wide attempt by Novikov. In the 25th minute, by pressing on the other side of the field, Andrii Chyruk made the opposing defenders make mistakes and ended up one on one with the goalkeeper, failing to beat the latter though. Soon, Shakhtar scored the second one: Viacheslav Churko finished off the Miners’ blistering counterattack with a shot inside the near corner – 2-0. The Oleksandriians very quickly reduced the deficit: the referee awarded a spot-kick for a foul by Kozik in the penalty area on Shastal, with Maksym Ivakhno converting it – 2-1. Towards the end of the half, Chromei made a free-kick attempt - just wide. The visitors could also have distinguished themselves, but Mykyta Turbaievskyi rescued his side at the most dangerous moment, giving the team an opportunity to leave for the break enjoying the lead.
With ten men
Already in the 58th minute, Shakhtar were outnumbered after Oleksandr Drambaev had been shown a second yellow card. But this did not turn into a problem for the Miners because even under such circumstances Fernando Valente's men scored again. Khromei beat the Oleksandriia defenders and flicked it home leaving the goalkeeper with no chance – 3-1. The visitors responded with an attempt near Turbaievskyi's goal - Ivakhno sent the ball very high. Perhaps, this was the only chance when the Yellow-Greens could have changed the numbers on the scoreboard.
Shakhtar's strong-willed victory in the important match. In the next round on November 27, the Orange-and-Blacks will play Dnipro-1 away.
