There are just over two days remaining until the UEFA Champions League group stage opener vs Real Madrid

On October 19, Shakhtar held a training session in Sviatoshyno

Testing and a medical

On Sunday, the players and staff were tested for COVID-19. Late in the evening, the results were confirmed as all negative (including those of the nine footballers diagnosed with the coronavirus on October 8th).

The Miners gradually resume full training. Those tested started Monday with a medical examination. Based on its results, tomorrow they will decide on those who can already have full training and those who will have to switch to it more smoothly.

UCL campaign starts on Wednesday

Before the start of training, Luis Castro held a thirty-minute theory session with the players. Three days after the Ukrainian league match vs Lviv, they will play vs Real in Madrid, with the coaching staff and the players being focussed just on the kickoff of their next campaign in European competitions.

The field session lasted just over an hour and was fully dedicated to tactics. Viacheslav Churko, Mark Mampassi, Denys Shostak and Danyil Honcharuk work with the team. The last three players are on Shakhtar's UCL List B, along with Heorhii Sudakov who is also back in the ranks.

You can receive the latest team updates and watch exclusive interviews in the Shakhtar news on Shakhtar Club and on Shakhtar TV. The Shakhtar News bulletin is aired at 19:36 on weekdays. The club channel is also available on the VOLIA network, satellite Xtra TV, as well as on the platforms of MEGOGO, OLL.TV, Sweet.tv and Divan.TV.
