In an interview to Shakhtar News, the head coach Luis Castro spoke about the preparation for the match vs Mariupol, the personnel situation and the important principles of teamplay

- Mariupol are one of the youngest teams in the Premier League. What kind of game are you expecting?

- Those matches are always difficult, the opponents are very motivated and energetic. Mariupol have all the qualities, the team are perfectly oriented by the coach: they like possession, they like to involve a large number of players in attacking. The upcoming meeting requires maximum attention and dedication of us.

- For the first time in several months, Shakhtar have conducted their weekly cycle with nearly the full squad. Are you satisfied with the players’ form and did you manage to balance the team?

- Yes, it’s true. Indeed, we had three days to train with the whole group, to come back and work on the things we’ve lost over all this time, which is good. There were many matches of high intensity. Unfortunately, we’ve lost some important playing principles - we’ve been repeating and improving them all presently. We hope to put a good end to this league edition, to step up our play again.

- What is the staffing situation? Is everyone ready for the encounter with Mariupol?

- Almost everyone. Some guys are still injured, others are recovering. Often, when we see that a player trains, this fact does not mean that he is ready. At least he starts the process of work that will lead him to playing or not. We'll see. Currently, we’ve been going through this kind of process in case of some footballers.

- Matviienko and Tete didn’t take part in the match against Vorskla. Are they available?

- They are recovering. Let's check their form at the final assessment to see if they are ready to play. We really want to finish the league campaign at a high level, so any mistakes regarding certain players might be fatal. We want all the guys to be ready, but we must be careful.
