On the eve of the away match vs Genk in the UCL qualifying round, Maycon shared his opinion about the opponents
- Have you watched any matches featuring Genk? What’s your impression of this team?
- Of course, we carefully watched several matches of Genk and we know perfectly well how our opponents operate. They are a fast team with very pacey players in the first attacking line. We’ve got to be watchful in any part of the match. If at some moment we lose concentration, we can get a counterattack on our goal, which, of course, we would not want. It’s also necessary to take into account the time when we have the ball: if we lose it, Genk will launch some blistering counterattacks. Again, every moment in the game will be important, so we need to pay attention to detail.
- Shakhtar have a new coach. Do you fully understand everything that Roberto De Zerbi demands from you? Have your functions changed based on your role?
- Mister places certain demands on the players at every position, not just mine. I would like to mention major changes compared to the last season when Luis Castro was our manager. Different specialists have their own vision and style of play, the main thing is to understand and do everything that the coach says and asks for.
