Shakhtar midfielder Manor Solomon shared his expectations for the upcoming UEL Round of 32 meeting with his fellow countrymen Maccabi TA
- That’s a very unusual match. I came to my country where there are lots of my friends. But tomorrow's main goal is to present ourselves and Shakhtar in the most favourable light and achieve the result we want.
- How has your play in the national team of Israel changed after joining Shakhtar?
- I joined Shakhtar two years ago. I was 19 years old, but even then I played for the national team of my country. However, working and training side by side with the outstanding footballers and coaches influenced my status in the national team of Israel. I suppose I started playing much better, and this is the result of my constant work at the top-tier club Shakhtar.
- Do you hope to appear in the starting lineup tomorrow?
- Mister Castro just whispered to me that he hasn’t yet made a decision on the starting lineup. But, like any other player in our team, I hope to appear in the opening minutes and do my best.
- Have you already met your family and relatives? What can you say about the rainy weather that your homeland met you with?
- I haven’t seen my parents yet, but I hope that on the matchday morning I’ll have this opportunity. I know that it was 21 to 23 degrees Celsius in Tel Aviv, while in Kyiv the temperature dropped below minus 10 degrees Celsius. When we arrived here, the weather suddenly changed to what you can observe now. I’d like to believe that it will improve. In any case, I'm only interested in tomorrow's match.
