The Miners claimed a major win in the final friendly at their first training camp

Although the match vs Sileks of North Macedonia was accompanied by rain and high and gusty winds, it turned out to be the most productive at the Turkish training camp.

Illogical result

Early in the game, Sileks had a half-chance after a corner-kick, but Djordjevic sent it high. Shakhtar tried to combine and had more control of the ball, often creating a numerical advantage in the opposing half. Marcos Antonio had a good chance, but accuracy let the Brazilian down. In the following attack, it was Solomon who threatened the opponents’ goal - the ball whizzed just inches off the post. A few minutes later, the same Solomon found himself one-on-one with Bozhinovski, but the goalkeeper turned it for a corner. Late in the first half, Manor was involved in the third scoring chance, with the ball hitting the post this time! And in the 42nd minute, the North Macedonians had a corner-kick finished off by Tantorovski – 0-1. The Miners might have equalized shortly, but the woodwork rescued the opponents again - Moraes got out of luck.

Spectacular comeback

During the break, Luis Castro traditionally changed the entire line-up, with Shakhtar opening the scoring shortly after that. In the 55th minute, Alan Patrick produced a free-kick, with the ball touching a player in the wall and sending the goalkeeper the wrong way - 1-1. After another 10 minutes, the Miners converted another set-piece. Viktor Korniienko spectacularly lobbed his free-kick attempt over the wall and hit the top corner of Bozhinovski's net, making it 2-1. In the next attack, an equally spectacular goal was scored by Taras Stepanenko whose long-range attempt hit the back of the net off the crossbar - 3-1. Dodo sealed the win in stoppage time after clinically drilling it into the bottom corner. 4-1 - the Miners finished their first training camp with a confident win.
