Roman Zaiev's team began preparing for the season
First session
On June 30, Shakhtar women's team gathered for the first time to hold a training camp at the club's Academy in Shchaslyve. Roman Zaiev has 16 outfield players and two goalkeepers at his disposal.
The session began with an organizational meeting and was introductory, although it included some intense exercises with the ball and practising various game situations. Goalkeepers under the leadership of Dmytro Shutkov worked separately.

Viktoriia Holovach, midfielder: "During the vacation we missed football, so everyone was happy to see each other. The session itself was light, the coaches gave us the opportunity to work a little after travelling. Everything is super!"
Season plans
Over the next couple of days, the team will be divided into groups in order to undergo a medical and fitness tests. Preparation for the season will consist of two stages: introductory training during the first week and the main preparation period to start on July 15th.
The Miners are creating an absolutely new team, so the girls will have to get to know each other and adapt on the football field. However, they point out that the allotted time should be sufficient.

Lyubov Mokhnach, midfielder: "We’ve got enough time to get prepared. We know and crossed paths with most of the girls."
Shakhtar women's team will start playing in the Ukrainian First League. The season kickoff is expected no earlier than mid-August.
