FC Shakhtar and the club’s premium partner Pepsi held a contest for active young people
Every teenager aged 12 and over could make their own breakthrough into the world of professional football and train with Shakhtar players. To do that, according to the terms of the challenge, boys and girls had to shoot a short video and show their football skills or a favourite dummy and necessarily involve Pepsi in that video, posting it on Instagram hashtagged #BreakthroughToDream.
Then the panel of judges represented by Andriy Pyatov, Taras Stepanenko and Pepsi representatives determined the winners. The guys from different cities and towns of Ukraine came to Kyiv and met with the players, they also took part in a training session at the NSC Olimpiyskiy.
“This is a great challenge for the teenagers. They sent us videos showing how they produced shots on target, with Andriy Pyatov making saves,” said Taras Stepanenko. “I know that the winners are from Lviv, Zaporizhia, Kryvyi Rih, the regions of Lutsk and Rivne ... This was the first visit for almost all the guys not just to the Olimpiyskiy, but also to the city of Kyiv! That’s cool, they are really impressed. I suppose that this competition was a great emotional experience for everyone.”
Besides Taras Stepanenko, the training session involving youngsters was attended by Dentinho, Anatolii Trubin, Viktor Korniienko, Maycon and Bohdan Viunnyk - it was held before the Ukrainian league final round game at the NSC Olimpiyskiy.
