Head coach of Shakhtar women's team Roman Zaiev reflects on the away victory over Chernihiv-based Yunist and the tough personnel situation

- I liked the play, it was highly intense in both halves. We always psych the team up for the fact that there are no easy matches. No matter how easy it may seem, you still need to make an effort. You cannot treat your job carelessly, you need to respect each opponent. At half-time, the girls listened to me and appeared for the second half more collected.

- The team’s personnel situation wasn’t easy, plus Kohut got injured in the first half. Was it difficult to react and tweak the play promptly?

- We try to ensure that each player is active in the preparatory phase of our weekly cycle, we also try to give everyone some match practice so that we can painlessly overcome any personnel loss and retain the playing structure. It’s sad that Svitlana Kohut got injured, but we found a way out, and I believe that Alina Starukhina operated quite well at that position.

- Would you agree that Shakhtar have been physically better than their opponents today, especially in the second half?

- We are careful to ensure the team’s good level in terms of their fitness. Currently, functional readiness is our strength. The level of our physical training is higher than that of our opponents in terms of quality.

- The young Oleksandra Yaneva has scored her debut goal. Are you happy with her appearance as a sub?

- Maybe at the beginning, someone was surprised by the invitation of a sixteen-year-old girl, but I saw her potential. Now I want to say again that she has huge potential. She is gradually reaching the necessary level.
