Shakhtar women's team secured in Chernihiv their seventh straight win

Compared to the game against the group’s major rivals Dnipro-1, the Orange-and-Blacks had three changes at once: Illina, Olkhovska and Kozub appeared instead of Starukhina, Krevska and Holovach.

Molodyuk's masterpiece and late goal

It took Roman Zaiev's charges some time to get used to the synthetic pitch at the Yunist stadium in Chernihiv. Perhaps that is why the first dangerous chances occurred after set-pieces. Honcharuk forced Olkhovska to foul, but Denyshchych confidently cut the angle. The visitors' response was much more dangerous, and most importantly it was effective. The opponents fouled on Kozhukhar some 25 metres away from the penalty area, Molodiuk stepped up to the ball and created a real football mini-masterpiece by powerfully sending the ball over the wall and right into the back of the net – 1-0. This success was overshadowed by the injury of Kohut who was replaced by Starukhina. However, neither the break nor the forced substitution influenced the fighting spirit of the Miners who continued making regular attempt towards Yunist’s goal, and only the performance by the in-the-zone Petrushyna allowed the plot to carry on virtually until the break, with the Shakhtar side netting a late first-half goal. Mokhnach ripped the right attacking wing open and sent a cross to the edge of the goal area where Kozhukhar's attempt was blocked by the goalkeeper, with Veherych being the first on the ball to make it 2-0.

Hat-trick within 23 minutes

At half-time, the home side made two substitutions, but the playing pattern did not change. The Orange-and-Blacks enjoyed every advantage, having better control over their scoring chances in the second half. It resulted into six more goals against Yunist. A hat-trick was netted by the team's top scorer Yanchuk. It took Polina only 23 minutes. The substitutes also scored a goal each: Yaneva converted the spot-kick earned by her, and Krevska headed a corner kick right home. Mokhnach sealed the win by volleying the winner in the very last minute of regular time.

8-0 - Shakhtar secured their seventh win in a row, keeping another clean sheet. Zaiev's ladies will play their next game at home in two weeks’ time, on October 31, against the league underdogs Nika Mykolayiv.
