Inclusive training skills workshop for coaches took place in Lviv

In early September, Lviv hosted the Introduction to Inclusive Training skills workshop for the Come On, Let’s Play! coaches and volunteers from Lviv and eight nearby settlements (Halych, Chervonohrad, Demyaniv, Demeshkivtsi, Bovshiv, Zadnistrianske, Dobrotvir, Burshtyn).

The training was conducted by Oleksandr Fomichev who has been practising inclusive training for many years and working in the Come On, Let’s Play! project in Ivano-Frankivsk since 2018.

Oleksandr Fomichev, Come On, Let’s Play! coach:

“Thanks to Shakhtar’s support, we had an excellent opportunity to meet with the entire team of coaches and administrators of the Come On, Play! of western Ukraine. There were many people with different levels of experience. We conducted both tactics and theory sessions with the children, so everyone gained invaluable experience to be integrated into inclusive training programmes at their sites.”

The educational event participants also got acquainted with the STEP methodology which provides for the children’s all-round development. Each coach conducted practical and theoretical sessions to involve children with different levels of physical and mental activity.

Antonina Khominets, Come On, Let’s Play! coach:

“I took part in a wonderful training in which we taught children to learn about inclusion and see what games can be applied to children with disabilities, for example. I will use my knowledge in Ivano-Frankivsk.

The training took place at a Come On, Let's Play! ground in Lviv (based on the Lviv Linguistic Gymnasium). We want to point out that earlier similar events were held in Brovary and Severodonetsk.

The Come On, Let’s Play! project is implemented with the support of the general partner DTEK.
