On September 26, they officially presented the training programme in Brovary

In Brovary, they introduced the Come On, Let’s Play! training programme for children with disabilities, with the Shakhtar midfielder Marlos attending it as a special guest. 15 children aged 6 to 13 years old took part in the session.

Inna Khmyzova, Shakhtar Social Director:

"Today, a training session for children with disabilities and special needs has taken place here. At Shakhtar Football School, such sessions will be held at weekends, and we have officially launched them, although they have been running for a couple of months now. You can sign up by contacting the call centre, filling out the form on the official site or by emailing it. Unfortunately, the admission number is limited, but it is still possible to enrol for these very sessions in Brovary!"

The training was also attended by representatives of the project’s general partner DTEK.

Vitalii Shaida, CEO of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids:

"DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids have continued the initiative launched four years ago by DTEK, FC Shakhtar and the Shakhtar Social charitable foundation. For the first time ever, we have opened an inclusive group for playing football within the framework of the Come On, Let’s Play project in Brovary. The major value of the project is that it helps to introduce children to sports and contributes to the socialization of children with disabilities."

Before the start of the training session, Marlos presented the children with gifts, and the session started with mastering the technique of throwing the ball in from behind the sideline. Then the guys did the parachute exercise: together with the player, everyone joined hands and formed a circle, trying to keep the ball in the air for as long as possible. In the end, Marlos and the children played football, and the midfielder helped the guys and taught them how to shoot correctly.

Inna Khmyzova, Shakhtar Social Director:

"Children are always pleased when a football player attends their training session. Especially when that is a top performer like Marlos who proved himself great in the last match. But there is also a second reason why we involve players: they are well known, and this helps to draw attention to the things we do and the issues we tackle."

Marlos noted that credit for such events goes to the organizers and thanked them.

Marlos, FC Shakhtar midfielder:

"The Come On, Let’s Play! is the most famous project aimed at the development of amateur sports and healthy lifestyles in Ukraine. I am glad to have taken part in the event and I would like to thank the organizers - the Shakhtar Social Charitable Foundation, FC Shakhtar and DTEK. Primarily, it’s them who help children with disabilities to overcome obstacles and promote their involvement in sports.

"The Come On, Let’s Play! is being implemented with the support of the general partner DTEK for three years now, involving 300 children with disabilities. There are already 42 settlements on the project map, with the guys and coaches being provided with all the necessary equipment for conducting their sessions. Trainings are aimed at improving coordination and focus, developing general physical and social skills and are also held in Mariupol, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk, Severodonetsk.
