Shakhtar women's team head coach Roman Zaiev spoke on Shakhtar News about preparations for the match vs Kobra, the opponents' performance and possible rotation
- Tell us about the team’s training process: have you already started targeted preparation for the match against Kobra?
- In the weekly cycle we planned the development of endurance - this is one of the stages of preparation for this Saturday’s game. We treat our opponents with respect and train as usual.
- Unlike your previous rivals, Kobra have been playing at the professional level for several years. What should we expect from this team, perhaps you could single out some of the opposing players?
- I watched the last two matches of Kobra, checked the last year's performance stats. To be honest, their past results were surprising, as these days the team display some more mature play, with positive results in the new season. They have good footballers who we will talk about at the pre-match setup session. Hopefully, the game will be spectacular.
- Many people say that it’s difficult to compete with Shakhtar now, which is evidenced by your results. What can you say about this - will the next match be more competitive?
- Firstly, I’d like to wish all the teams in the First and the Premier Leagues to have such conditions and opportunities for work as we do. The rest is achieved through hard work, attitude and passion for football, and not because we have better people or anything else. It’s all thanks to a number of things shaping the result.
- After the match vs Kobra, the team will skip one round. Are you planning to use some rotation?
- We proceed from the result. If it’s positive, we will try to give match practice to all our players. Perhaps someone will get more of it than previously. Again, everything will depend on the outcome and the match developments.
